Running for Visibility: Native Women Running at the VITAMIN WELL Women’s Race Berlin

A race is more than a sporting event – it can also express values, tell stories, and make communities visible. That’s why we`re very proud to welcome runners from Native Women Running (NWR) to the VITAMIN WELL Women’s Race Berlin this year again.

NWR was founded by Navajo ultrarunner Verna Volker with a clear mission: to amplify the presence and voices of Indigenous women in running and to build a space of solidarity and strength.

After making their first appearance in Berlin last year, we were even more delighted to see NWR runners return in 2025. Their participation is more than just symbolic – it is a moving testament to inclusion, identity, and the power of community.

With every race they run, these women share their heritage, their voices, and their unwavering love of running. They remind us that sport can be a force for change – for visibility, connection, and empowerment.

Together, we run toward a future where diversity is celebrated and every woman feels seen and supported.
